With over ten years of extensive experience in patent research and analytics, patent law, technology research and advisory, Suraj currently serves as the Group Leader- Patents Engineering at R.K. Dewan & Co.
In his role, Suraj leads numerous patent search and analytics projects, including invalidity searches, freedom-to-operate searches, patentability searches, and technology landscape analysis. He also oversees various patent-related tasks such as drafting, prosecution, opposition, and actively engage with clients to provide custom solutions.
As a qualified patent agent registered with the Indian Patent Office (Reg. No. IN/PA -4123), Suraj attends patent opposition and prosecution hearings before the Indian patent office. Suraj brings a wealth of expertise across diverse industries, including automotive, biomedical, electric vehicles, solar energy, industrial machinery, consumer equipment, and FMCG goods. He has collaborated closely with IP attorneys in the US, Europe, and Canada on patentability, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate search projects.
Suraj's proficiency extends beyond patent-related endeavors to encompass technology consulting assignments, such as M&A technology/IP due diligence, competitive assessment, infringement analysis, and technology landscape analysis. He has provided valuable assistance to clients across the US, Europe, Japan, and India, delivering tailored solutions to meet their unique consulting needs.
