Patent Analyst & Patent AgentRushma holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and has also successfully completed her post-graduate L.L.B. with a specialization in Intellectual Property Rights, particularly Patent Law. She is a registered Patent Agent (IN/PA - 3722) and an Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of India (6018/MAH/2015).
With over seven years of experience in patent prosecution and client management, Rushma currently serves as a Patent Analyst and Patent Agent at R.K. Dewan & Co. since 2018. She leads a dynamic patent prosecution team and ensures compliance with legal timelines related to examination reports, hearings, oppositions, appeals, and review petitions. She also collaborates extensively with global IP attorneys, particularly from Canada, China, the EU, Japan, Korea, and the USA, to facilitate seamless prosecution of patent applications in India.
Further, her role involves direct representation of clients at the Indian Patent Office and the preparation of comprehensive legal documentation including responses to office actions, counter-statements, revocation petitions, and patent specifications. Additionally, she provides strategic patentability opinions and client-specific tailored patent strategies.
Rushma is also a key member of our patent litigation team, representing clients before courts across the country
Her technical expertise spans a wide range of domains including agrochemicals, biochemistry, biotechnology, organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and related industries.
